Actors and creatives share how training at Luton Acting Hub CIC has influenced their craft, confidence, professional development and sense of community.

LAH has been incredibly important in my journey to becoming an actor. It’s taught me many lessons about the art, skills and techniques that I can use to help take performances to the next level and things to make prep work and understanding script and character easier. It’s helped me meet and befriend many other creatives, not just actors but directors and writers too, as well as just the community itself, it’s a great way of bringing people together.
It’s also taught me a lot about myself, it has helped me in my personal life. The skills you learn at LAH can translate into your personal life in many ways: It helps with self-confidence and belief, it helps you to talk to all different kinds of people, to stand up in front of people and show them something, to be in tune with your emotions, and be empathetic. I’ve seen many people grow more confident in sessions and outside them during my time at LAH.
Aaron himself is a very generous teacher, he’s always there to offer advice when it comes to the tasks at LAH but also when it comes to things about your own career and what steps you should take and the kind of things you should be looking into to help further your career.
It’s given me the opportunity to work on a number of short films through the connections I’ve made and it’s truly helped me realise that my dream of being an actor is completely achievable. Without Aaron, and without LAH I wouldn’t be the actor I am today and I am extremely grateful for the teachings and experiences LAH has allowed me to have.

I’ve been attending Luton Acting Hub for a good few months now and recently completed a course there. Aaron, who runs the hub, is a very talented and knowledgeable teacher. I’ve got a huge amount out of what he’s been teaching me — particularly around vulnerability.
His energy, care and commitment to the education side of Luton Acting Hub are second to none. I really enjoy the structure of his classes and the way he teaches; you have to experience it yourself to understand how valuable his expertise is.
The people who come to these classes are also fantastic. It attracts like-minded people who bring positivity, honesty and real dedication. Aaron’s skills give anyone who puts their heart and soul into the work a genuine chance to succeed in an acting career.
I’ve been to quite a few acting classes and I’ve never experienced one like Aaron’s. I’ve learnt so much about emotions and how we use them in character, and about getting out of our heads and into the flow and energy of a scene. I never realised there was so much involved in acting until I started at LAH.
I’m really glad I’ve had the chance to experience everything he’s offered. I’m grateful for the community he’s built and the love and effort he puts into people.

I joined Luton Acting Hub a few months ago and it’s been such a valuable experience. In a short time, I feel like I’ve learned a lot, not just about acting, but also about myself.
The sessions create such a supportive and inspiring environment. Everyone shows up with honesty and vulnerability, which makes it a really powerful space to learn and grow.
I’ve genuinely enjoyed every session and I’m excited to continue developing. I hope LAH keeps growing into a place where more people like me can feel they’ve found their space, surrounded by creativity, openness, and great people.

Over the years, training at LAH, I have gained exceptional insight into the world of acting which has completely changed the way I view performance. At LAH, through heavy physical and emotional work along with thorough script analysis, I’ve been challenged to unlearn bad habits, learning to pause and build real connections with my scene partner, preparing me for an exciting yet difficult industry. I highly recommend training sessions at LAH.

Joining Luton Acting Hub is by far one of the best things I’ve done! I walked into Luton Acting Hub around four years ago being given a script I had little confidence and knowledge on how to digest. I had very little acting experience, just a burning desire I had never fulfilled until now to act.
Today, thanks to Luton Acting Hub, I feel not only confident to now pursue a career as an actor but it has helped me to grow as a person. I have now performed successfully in theatre and film confidently thanks to all the knowledge gained from Luton Acting Hub.
From the start Aaron has always trained us to a very high standard, stating every workshop should be prepped for as if we were to turn up on set. I have just finished shooting for the lead role in a film where I had a very complex character to play. Thanks to the huge skill set given to me by Luton Acting Hub I had great fun prepping for this role, confident in the knowledge given to me not only how to prep a script but how to build character based upon my own truth and how to listen and connect when arriving on set. How to affect and be affected! Today, with thanks to Luton Acting Hub, I remain grateful and excited to push this as a full-time career.

Luton Acting Hub has been an amazing experience and one I wouldn’t have thought to find in Luton. When I first started I had not done any acting or training and my confidence was low. But what stands out whilst attending the group is how much of a community it is, who along with Aaron is very supportive in your journey, which in turn helps you to develop as an actor.
My confidence has improved immensely. I have learnt how to conduct scene work, interpret scripts, develop characters, practise monologues, scenes and improvised scenarios, with constructive feedback helping me to develop further.
I am now a lot more confident, appearing in two short films, and now look forward to even more, all thanks to the invaluable support of Aaron and the group.

During my time attending Luton Acting Hub, I’ve gone from being a complete beginner who had never acted before to someone who now has the confidence to get up and perform in front of an audience. This gain in confidence has also helped me as a person and allowed me to pursue singing lessons. The sessions have also helped me to grow as an actor and get a better understanding of the craft and the steps I need to take to achieve my dream.
LAH isn’t just acting workshops, it’s more than that. It’s a community of like-minded people who are passionate about acting and are also chasing their dreams. It’s also a safe place where there is no judgement.

Training at Luton Acting Hub has allowed me to go deeper into my craft, exploring new levels of empathy and vulnerability, while learning more about myself in the process.
I always walk away from each session feeling inspired and reminded of why I love being an actor! We’re encouraged to be real, honest and vulnerable, while also being pushed to work hard and continually challenge ourselves.
Most importantly, it’s one of the safest and most supportive places I’ve trained in. There’s a real sense of trust, encouragement and community. It’s not just a workshop, it’s a family.

LAH and Aaron have helped me in several ways. I couldn’t even make eye contact when I first started coming. I didn’t know how to break down a script and didn’t have the freedom to perform at my best. Now, after four years attending, I have upgraded not only as an actor, but an individual.

My experience at LAH has been nothing but educational.
Aaron really cares about the craft and inputs so much into ensuring that everyone who comes through the door has an opportunity to train at the highest level possible.
I have gained confidence I lost a long time ago and it encourages you to research, read and dig deep. Thinking about character, improv sessions, stage and screen practice and summer courses are all in the mix, as well as very experienced professionals, including Aaron himself, imparting knowledge to us.
I am currently on an extended break for personal family health reasons and Aaron has checked in with me, which has been invaluable. The opportunities for people in class have grown and I have been able to be a part of those. Because of these classes, I have dared to let myself believe that I can and have put myself forward for other opportunities I would never have before.
Worth every minute! Thank you Aaron.

I joined the first LAH acting class in April 2026 in the hope it would improve my delivery of work presentations, expecting to be taught explicitly how to speak and move a certain way, like a child being taught to write the alphabet.
It was nothing like that. In fact, it was like I stepped into a different world, in a group of amazing people where I felt I am accepted and I belong just because I was there and was willing to push myself to learn to act. It was exactly what I did not quite know that I needed in my life.
Besides the excellent acting training that Aaron gives us, in each class he creates an environment where we feel safe to risk being really seen and heard by others with our qualities as well as our flaws. Not only have I been learning to be more self-accepting but I gained more confidence and self-esteem, which greatly diminishes my anxiety and its effects on my communication.
The classes helped me be more aware of the way I interact with people at work and greatly improved my ability to engage and create rapport, so it feels easier to achieve my career goals in collaboration with other people. This is something I have always struggled with and used to think that it was because I am a woman in a male-dominated industry.
The LAH classes are so much more than acting for me. Aaron’s passion and dedication for other people’s growth, his professionalism and his belief that we can achieve what we want — it’s an inspiring gift.

The most recent course really helped me as an actress and just in general. I feel like I understand myself on a deeper level and understand others. I feel like on previous sets I’ve worked on I was putting on an ‘act/performance’, but the course taught me how to become the character whilst still being in reality.
I definitely feel more prepared to do more acting jobs. Training consistently at your classes has helped my confidence and character prep. I’m keen to continue classes here as it’s accessible location-wise and affordable.
Just wanted to thank you for taking your time out to work on our craft and help us grow in the industry.

When I first started out as a writer, I wanted to put myself in places that would help me grow in my craft. I wasn’t planning on becoming an actor, and I almost talked myself out of coming to my first class, thinking it might just be a good networking opportunity. Looking back, deciding to come was one of the best decisions I’ve made in my career.
Not only did it improve my writing through a much deeper understanding of character development, but it also gave me the confidence to direct my own scripts. Watching the way you work with actors and understanding how acting really works has had a huge impact on my directing. Funny enough, I’ve even picked up a lot of acting skills myself along the way.
Above everything else, having a place to go every week surrounded by like-minded creatives who genuinely push each other to be better was exactly what I needed. It felt like a family — a group of people who truly understand the challenges of this industry. I think something like that is so important.
You manage to challenge everyone with the perfect balance of tough lessons and genuine care. Luton needs LAH more than they know. Thank you for everything you’ve created and for the impact you’ve had on me and so many others.

I’ve lived in Luton pretty much my whole life and all of my acting training, whether that be drama school, college or weekend acting classes at 10 years old, has required me to leave Luton. Growing up, Luton just didn’t have those kinds of environments. Without my parents driving me up and down, here, there and everywhere, I would not have been able to experience all the wonderful things acting brings. LAH has created such a beautiful space in the heart of Luton that I would have bitten my own hand off to join.
Not only is the atmosphere kind, it’s encouraging, thought-provoking and honest. It’s a place to flex your muscles and be brave. It’s an opportunity for the people of Luton to experience wonderful things and play.
It’s a privilege to see the talent in the room and work with such incredible detail. Aaron and the team have built something very special!”

Luton Acting Hub is one of the key elements that supports the acting community within Luton, a town where it feels as though opportunities for adults to work on their acting are few and far between. LAH is the exact thing the town needed.
I spent over three years attending classes with the team and found it to be not only massively influential on my acting ability, but it helped me feel more confident and comfortable in my day-to-day life. It provides a safe place for people of all levels, where experienced actors can go to refresh their skills and refine their script analysis, and for people with zero experience it is a perfect place to start.
To be in the room with such talent can be daunting at first, but everyone is given the chance to shine no matter their experience. I was inspired by Luton Acting Hub to write and create. By helping with giving notes, direction and occasionally helping to run the classes, I found a new passion for writing and directing.
I miss being a Luton’er and attending the sessions. Something for me is missing and I have lost touch with my creativity as of late. But I think I will drop by soon, as you can always trust LAH to get you back into the creative mind and work.
